DUNAVĂȚ CANAL, the place where is situated DELTA PARADISE RESORT, has a length of 28.5 km, starting from km 54 of Saint George Arm and ends in the Lake Razim at south of Fundea Bay. The famous Romanian scholar GRIGORE ANTIPA founded the canal construction. The main problem of fisheries Razim - Sinoe, at the late nineteenth century, was the destruction of fish fauna from the lack of oxygen in the water due to clogging of Dunavăţ Canal, which was connecting with the Danube and feeding the lagoons with fresh water. Following the first research in this area, GRIGORE ANTIPA submitted to the Government a memorandum proposing measures to solve this problem, namely unclogging the canal and digging another canal to feed Razim - Sinoe with fresh water from the Danube. The approach is successful, so with the support of the King Carol I, in the early century. XX, Dunavăţ Canal was constructed and put into operation, formerly called King Carol Canal and the Dranov Canal, formerly called Prince Ferdinand Canal. Following the construction of the two canals, the fish could multiply easily, greatly decreasing the fish mortality and therefore fishing communities in the area were developed.

Fishing inside DELTA PARADISE RESORT – DUNAVĂȚ 1 ENCLOSURE- with total area of 1.505 ha and ponds designated for sporting fishing mainly for rapeseed - pike, but also for carp, catfish, perch, crucian and rudd. The enclosure includes the basins: Cormoran, Albatros, Pelican, Swan, Coot, Ţigănuş and Twins. You can fish off the pier or rent a boat (rowing or motor) to fish inside the enclosure.
